Snowcat's hold up to 12 skiing guests. Our 3 heated snowcats allow us to split our guests by skiing ability so everyone is skiing at their comfortable level. Our terrain , located on Buffalo Pass, is conveniently located just 25-min from downtown Steamboat Springs, so we are snowcat skiing by 9:00 am. The skiing terrain is matched to the ability level of the group so it's very important to figure out what snowcat you should be on.
Our snowcat terrain is a 10,000 acre powder stash annually recording some of the deepest snow depths in Colorado, let alone the World. The cold, dry and stormy weather in Steamboat Springs makes for super light snow, which, combined with terrain that is perfectly matched for snowcat skiing, then you can understand why we are Steamboat Springs's only snowcat or heli skiing service and have been operating snowcats and guiding powder skiing tours on Buffalo Pass for 22 years .
Ability Levels & Terrain
What is your biggest fear when planning a powdercat trip where you will be skiing and riding with people whom you have never met? Is it that you are afraid that they are either too slow or too fast, or that the guides will be taking you into terrain that is way too mellow or a bit too steep?
When you reserve your trip, our reservation team will ask you to rate your skiing and snowboarding ability. Your guides will always attempt to select runs that suit your ability and comfort level, while offering just the right amount of challenge . Please be honest with us when rating the ability for yourself and your group.
For those guests who greatly overstates their ability level, we reserve the right to restrict them from skiing. No refunds will be given to these guests. Sitting in the cat is no fun, so please be honest when rating your ability level.
