Nestled away in a hidden valley, just 25 miles north of Steamboat Springs, Vista Verde offers a skiing and snowshoeing opportunity away from the crowds and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The ranch operates as a guest ranch in the summer and winter months, pampering guests with luxurious accommodations, exceptional cuisine and a wide variety of activities.

With 30 km of groomed trails spread out over the 500 acre ranch, there's plenty of room for in-house guests as well as day guests to enjoy the quiet and scenic trails. Most of the trails wind through open meadows or lodgepole pine stands, but a few venture up the challenging hills to panoramic views and quiet glades of aspens. The trails are groomed for both skate and classic skiing, with some trails dedicated to snowshoeing as well.
Trail passes are available for those just coming up for a ski, but the most popular choice is our "Day Ski and Lunch package". A favorite of the locals for a full day getaway, you can ski all day but enjoy a break in the middle for a gourmet lunch in our cozy main lodge. Lunch generally consists of a full salad bar, sandwich fixings and homemade soups. Also enjoy a glass of wine and your choice of two hot entrée that will entice your taste buds. If you have enough room, enjoy a freshly made dessert and a cup of coffee by the fireplace before heading back out to ski it all off! Dinner and Ski packages are available as well. Reservations are required. Please note that reservations are required for meals.
Classic and skate ski as well as snowshoe equipment lessons and tours are available, but please call ahead to check availability and reservations.
For guests staying at the ranch, guided backcountry tours are a favorite out in the surrounding Routt National Forest.
