Mountain Statistics
Steamboat is located on the windward side of the Park Range just before the Continental Divide. So if you know your weather, you'll know that the snow-laden clouds from the Pacific have to dump their snow on Steamboat so they can get over the mountains.
With all that snow nearly guaranteed, the best time to hit the slopes for some of Steamboat's famous champagne powder is in January when Mother Nature dumps 94.5 inches around here. On average, we get 27 feet! of snow each year.
Winter Season
Winter Season usually begins the third week in November and keeps going through mid-April. The mountain is open daily from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
