 Paddling Life Invitational and the 30th Annual Yampa River Fest.  Invitational kayaking event in Steamboat Springs.
Now in its fifth year, and held in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the Yampa River Festival (May 28-30, 2010), the Paddling Life Invitational is a one-day kayaking event in Steamboat Springs, CO that pits some of the world's top kayakers against one another in a one-day, two-event competition for a cash purse and year-long bragging rights. This is followed by an Après Paddle and Awards Party sponsored by New Belgium Brewery at Sun Pies Bistro between 7th and 8th on Yampa Ave (waterside to the Yampa River). 2  Youth Education Scholarship Golf Tournament. Benefitting Routt County Students
The Youth Education Scholorship Fund (Y.E.S.) provides 8 to 10 scholarships to graduating Routt County High School Seniors, an additional scholarship to one past recipient, and funding to high school groups working on attaining business skills. To date we have awarded over $150,000 total funding. Y.E. S. is a best ball, team competition golf tournament, played at the Rollingstone Ranch Golf Course in Steamboat Springs, CO. Players compete for 1st through 3rd place prizes as well as hole competions, including hole in one prizes of cash and a car. The Y.E.S. tournament is in its 23rd year, having awarded over $150,000 in scholarship money. 6  29th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K.  Voted the most beautiful Marathon in the U.S We will accept 1000 runners in the Half Marathon and 500 runners in the Full Marathon. There is no cap on the 10K. T-shirt and post race food included in a Marathon and Half Marathon entry. T-shirt, fruit and water (No Lunch) included in the 10K entry fee. All races start at 7:30am. 12 Electronic Recycling Da.  Safely dispose of unwanted electronic products. G & S Mountain Recyclers will be in the Meadows Parking lot from 8am to 3pm taking all types of electronic products for recycling. There are nominal fees charged, depending on the product being recycled.12 32nd Annual Hayden Cog Run.  One of the longest consecutively run races in the state of Colorado!The Cog Run is a challenging 8.4 mile out and back course on Routt County Road #76. This race has approximately 3 miles of steep uphill/downhill slope with the turn around point at the top of the Hayden Cog. All races offer spectacular views of the Yampa Valley. The 10k and 5k runs are out and back with rolling hills south of Hayden on County Road #53. On-site registration will be available between 9:00 and 9:30am on race day.  Register early to ensure an entry gift and please remember that post race food is for runners and volunteers only. 17 Steamboat Classic Car Cruise, Lincoln Avenue
17-20  22nd Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup. Mustangs in the Rockies. More than 450 Mustang owners from Rocky Mountain Mustang clubs will convene in Steamboat Springs over Father's Day Weekend. Activities will include a scenic mountain tour, auto cross, Friday night social, Show n’ Shine Car Show and awards breakfast. Spectators are welcome at the Meadows parking lot located at the corner of Mt. Werner Road and Pine Grove Road for Friday’s Autocross. Over 180 Ford Mustangs compete in this timed event. Saturday’s Show n’ Shine is a car lovers dream. Over 450 Ford Mustangs are on display up and down Lincoln Avenue for your viewing pleasure. Both events are free and open to the public. 2-4 Concert Steamboat Springs July 4th Celebration & 107th Annual Cowboys' Roundup Days. Celebrate the 4th in Steamboat.For over 100 years Steamboat has celebrated Independence Day in true western fashion. Cowboys’ Roundup Days celebrates the Western Heritage native to the Yampa Valley with events for the entire family. Kick back in your boots at several community events including, a community all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, the annual parade down Lincoln Avenue, Pioneer Days Block Party featuring a free community concert and root beer floats for the kids, evening rodeo, and one of the states largest fireworks display. Join us for a breathtaking fireworks display at historic Howelsen Hill and celebrate July 4th with Steamboat tradition. This nighttime extravaganza will begin at dark, roughly 9:00 P.M. For the best viewing location, you can get front row seats at the base of Howelsen Hill, the oldest ski area in continuous operation in the state.  This fun filled weekend also includes a REAL cattle drive where local ranchers will drive 100 pair of cattle from their ranch down Lincoln Avenue to Romick Arena. 10 -11  30th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo & 36th Annual Art in the Park.  A staple of Steamboat in the Summertime.  Join us for the most anticipated and colorful weekends of the summer. The 30th Annual Hot Air Balloon   Rodeo and the 36th Annual Art in the Park has become a staple of Steamboat in the Summertime. On Saturday, start your day at Bald Eagle Lake for a spectacular early-morning affair as you watch over 40 hot air balloons rise softly from the mist and drift over the Yampa Valley. Afterwards make your way over to West Lincoln Park for Steamboat's biggest arts and crafts festival. Art in the Park takes place on Saturday from 9-5 P.M. and on Sunday from 9-4 P.M. Mark your calendars because this weekend is an absolute favorite for the entire family!  Due to the event's convenient location on the edge of town, we encourage spectators walk, ride their bikes or take the shuttle from the hotel or lodge. 4-6  6th Annual Wild West Air Fest and Labor Day Weekend Celebration. Labor Day Weekend in Steamboat is packed with entertainment in the air, on the mountain and all over town! It's a Labor Day celebration for the whole family. The Wild West Air Fest features vintage and war bird static aircraft display, classic cars, radio controlled airplane shows, hang gliders, para-gliders, Wings Over the Rockies KidSpace and much more! 17-19 2nd Annual Steamboat OktoberWest.  Celebrate the season at a Steamboat-style Oktoberfest with music, food, beer, games and activities for kids and adults, chef competition and much more. We’re taking all the German Oktoberfest traditions and stamping them with Steamboat’s western brand. No German beer here, just good ol’ Rocky Mountain beer, food and festivities.
The event will kickoff Friday night with a cruiser bike parade in Steamboat’s historic downtown leading patrons to their favorite restaurants for the Suds & Grub event with beer tastings and food specials. Saturday is packed with entertainment for everyone in the family in a beautiful location, the base of the Steamboat Ski Area. Admission to the event is FREE. In true OktoberWest spirit, try your hand at roping a keg barrel, walk amongst the many artisan vendors and find that can’t-live-without item, sample some of the tasty food and put a refreshing beer in your hand and you have the perfect fall day in Steamboat Springs. While you are enjoying OktoberWest festivities, cheer on the Run Rabbit Run Ultra Marathon racers at the finish line after completing a challenging 50-mile run along the Continental Divide trail.
