Touch a Truck – Touch a Truck is a Free community event for everyone! There will be a variety of trucks and vehicles on display including fire trucks, busses, dump trucks, four wheelers and even a Zamboni! Kids are welcome to check out the trucks up close, sit in the driver’s seat and even honk the horns. This event will go on rain or shine.

Sunday 6/7
28th Annual Steamboat Marathon – The most scenic run in the Rockies!  Named one of the 10 “ Most Scenic Marathons and a Top 10 Destination Marathon in North America by Runner’s World.”  The marathon, half marathon, and 10K will all begin at 7:30am. The marathon course begins at Hahn’s Peak Village, runs south on CR 129, and finishes at the Routt County courthouse in downtown Steamboat.

Karen is an eighteen year resident of Steamboat and has been a professional photographic artist for 29 years.  This program runs from June 1 – October 15th. 2nd Annual Splashdown Pondskim – For the 2nd year, the Springalicious celebration will feature a SPLASHDOWN Pond Skimming Competition. Steamboat’s bravest (and maybe craziest) skiers/riders will attempt to cross an ice-cold pond at the base of the mountain, while being judged on distance, outfit creativity, and crowd response.

Nature Valley NASTAR National Championship – For the fourth consecutive year, Steamboat Ski Resort will host the Nastar National Championships, the world’s largest recreational ski and snowboard race program, March 26-29. Come and cheer on Christie Club Members, Melanie Halliday, Rusty Corwin, and the Mitchell’s boys as they compete for gold! Races are being held on numerous runs on the lower mountain.

Nordic Fest – Hakan Memorial – 7th Annual benefit Event, benefiting up and coming local skiers.  The theme of the day is Futuristic Viking. A fun day of skiing and games for all ages and abilities with family and friends, costumes and more costumes, and featuring ……The Prodigious Pig Roast.

8th Annual Mavericks Superpipe Challenge  -Skiers and riders will compete for cash and prizes during the 8th Annual Mavericks Superpipe. The competition will start at 11:00am, followed by an awards ceremony at 2:00pm.

Bud Light Rocks the Boat Concert Series – Featuring the Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band – The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band may technically only be comprised of three people, but their name is a misnomer. Although only together for three years, this rural Indiana country-blues family band has played more than 250 shows annually.

Emerald Mountain Snowshoe Tour - Meet at Emerald Mountain for a two hour snowshoe tour.

Valentine’s Day Valentine Day’s Parade and Torchlight Parade – Steamboat Ski and Snowboard School treats tourists and locals to a spectacular on-snow parade down the mountain lit only by torches. In conjunction with the parade, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky providing a perfect ending to the evening

Steamboat Springs Orchestra Valentine Soiree – Grammy- winner Sara Sant’Ambrogio headlines Steamboat Springs Orchestra’s Valentine Soiree,
What could be more romantic than a candlelight dinner set to a Vivaldi cello duet? Sara Sant’Ambrogio, the big headliner, plays cello in the Grammy winning all female Eroica Trio. John Sant’Ambrogio (her father) is Steamboat Springs Orchestra principal cellist, and held the seat in the St. Louis Symphony for nearly two decades. Even though they are father and daughter, they rarely play together anymore because of Sara’s busy schedule.

Winter Carnival – Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast – Hosted annually by the Knights of Columbus, this function is the perfect way to fuel up for all of the day’s activities. A nominal admission is charged.
Holy Name Catholic Church – 8:00am – 11:00am

•    100 meter Nordic Sprint – Find out who is the fastest skate skier in the “Boat”. Male and female Divisions, ages 13 and over, and 12 and under.

•    Street Events – A wildly popular and entertaining show featuring children on skis and snowboards being pulled behind horses through the snow covered streets of downtown. Races include street slalom, ski-joring, ring and spear, donkey jump and the famous adult shovel race.

•    Pro Alpine Ski Flying Training –
Howelsen Hill – 1:00pm

•    International Muzzle Loading Biathlon – In this unique endurance event, participants clad in fur trappings, frontier village attire combine marksmanship, using black powder firearms with cross-country skiing on primitive equipment.
Howelsen Hill – Noon - 2:00pm

•    Night Extravaganza – A must-see evening of entertainment at historic Howelsen Hill. The evening features a winter sports exhibition, the Lighted Man, glowstick and torchlight parades, fiery hoop jumpers, an elaborate fireworks display, and much more.

Winter Carnival – Street Events – A wildly popular and entertaining show featuring children on skis and snowboards being pulled behind horses through the snow covered streets of downtown. Races include street slalom, ski-joring, ring and spear, donkey jump and the famous adult shovel race.

•    Diamond Hitch Parade – The diamond hitch consists of at least 4 skiers. The skiers hold on to points of the rope tied in the shape of one or more diamonds. Animals, people or vehicles will pull the skiers, etc down the snow-filled streets. Don’t miss the Steamboat High School skier band! They band plays in the parade on skis!
Lincoln Avenue – 11:30am

•    Pro Alpine Ski Flying Finals – This is a must Gelandesprung (a German word that means terrain jump) Ski Jumping event with participants launching off the K114 “Big Hill” in alpine skis and boots, rather than the usual ski jumping equipment. Watch as records get broken!
Howelsen Hill – 1:00pm

•    Parent-Child Downhill – Everyone is a winner in this non-competitive, fun event. And adult and child ski together through Howelsen Hill’s terrain. Each child is given a participant ribbon and is provided an opportunity to have a professional photograph taken on the podium. Pre –registration is not required, but a release form must be signed or already be on file to participate.
